Group Safaris in Malawi are not to be missed! Arrive on the banks of the mighty Shire River and transfer to your bush lodge by river boat- the perfect way to begin your safari. Spend the next two days rising early for morning game drives in open top vehicles and taking walking and riverboat safaris. The park has a wonderful diversity of wildlife including, elephants, hippos, impalas and zebras. Your camp can be hired exclusively for the groups use and its riverside views, excellent service and knowledgeable guides will make your stay unforgettable. From the restaurant area you can watch animals coming to the river to drink and hear the hippos eating the grass outside your room at night- an opportunity for a real bush experience! After your evening safari drive you will return to the camp for an evening meal and a night under the stars experiencing traditional dancing and Malawian cuisine.
Logistics: For groups above 25 people you will have exclusive use of the camp. The camp is very used to hosting large educational groups and can provide group activities and meals upon request at time of booking. Activities include, bush walks, riverboat safaris and open top safari game drives. Please remind the group to bring trainers or walking boots for the bush walks.

A fundraise challenge to climb Mount Mulanje is an ideal way to raise money for your trip to Malawi. This majestic mountain provides a number of different hiking routes dependent on time, fitness level and season. Small mountain huts are dotted along the plateau edge and provide perfect resting points for peak climbs and nights spent on the mountain. To reach the plateau the climb will take between 5-7 hours and you will be accompanied by experienced guides and porters. Once on the plateau, days can be spent ascending the peaks, swimming in mountain pools or resting at the picturesque mountain huts. Evenings will be spent in front of open fires cooking dinner and regaling stories of the day's adventures.
Logistics: The mountain can get very cold between May and September so warm clothing is essential, it is also advisable to bring wet weather clothing. Sleeping bags and blankets can be hired but groups should ensure they have all the items for Mulanje as mentioned in the pre-travel information (See PDF Packing List). All food is provided and carried by your porters. NB Groups need to be at an appropriate fitness level to hike Mulanje, for members of the group who do not wish to hike there is an option of helping at a local orphan care project within Mulanje District.
Rest and Relaxation on the shores of Lake Malawi. Arriving by kayak to Domwe Island will stand out as one of your best Malawi memories. Paddle out across the bay to the deserted Domwe Island where you will be treated to two days of Robinson Crusoe island experiences. Kayaking, snorkelling, swimming, rock jumping in the day and sitting around the campfire on the beach in the evening. Perfect spot to unwind and the island can be booked exclusively; teachers can sleep in the island's permanent rooms while students can pitch tents on nearby platforms.
Logistics: You can reach the island by kayak or by boat. The island can be hired on a full board basis or self catering. There are two resident staff on Domwe Island. Tents and bedding can be hired upon request.

For the ultimate travel group safari experience you can add on a three day trip to South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. Brimming with wildlife, groups will be treated to large herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions and possibly leopard. Groups will rise early each morning to go on safari, in open top vehicles on on foot, return to the lodge for lunch, siesta till 4 pm then take a four hour afternoon/evening game drive before retuning to the lodge for dinner.
Logistics: It takes between 5-7 hours to drive from Lilongwe, Malawi to South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. UK groups can get visas for Zambia at the border crossing; educational groups from outside the UK please consult your embassy for further visa information. Groups may be asked to show copies of their Yellow Fever Certificates at the Zambian Border. Walking trainers are essential for walking safaris at South Luangwa.
