Milestone event as four leopards are translocated from South Africa.
Majete Wildlife Reserve has become the proud recipient of four leopards from South Africa. The four young leopards are the first to be introduced to Malawi across international borders and the first leopards to make their home in Majete for nearly two decades.

Two skilled volunteers share their Lake Malawi Volunteer Experience.
Claire and Connor Kennedy contacted The Responsible Safari Company when they decided to come to Malawi and share their skills for part of the school summer holiday. They wanted to work within a community project, share their teaching skills and learn more about the challenges facing Malawi. Below is a fantastic account of the brilliant work they did while in Malawi!

Kate and Dom have recently visited two of Lake Malawi’s outstanding lakeside retreats. A weekend visit to Pumulani Lodge and a four day adventure to Mozambique and Nkwichi Lodge. We just had to write and tell you all about it!

Last week Chimwemwe, set off to spend three days in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. Reseraching for our new website Explore Malawi. It was her first true safari experience, her first leopard sighting and her very first time to leave Malawi. Here she speaks of her experience.

Apart from being the most challenging physical activity I have ever done, hiking Mulanje Mountain has also become one of the most memorable and exciting experiences I have ever had in my life. It was wonderful walking through the mountain and witnessing stunning views, valleys and waterfalls offered by the mountain. Standing in a mountain valley with a cool breeze from the stream blowing and trying to internalize and appreciate the beauty of Mulanje Mountain was my highlight.

Tingling excitement at we edged forward following the huge outlined prints of the elephants...as we rounded the bend the Shire River came into view and out of the dust came the herd moving silently across the plains.

As the rainy season continued Dom battled with trying to install a borehole at a small community run education project on the outskirts of Blantyre. A UK Charity has employed Dom to oversee a small community pre school education and feeding centre. As well as advising on budget projections, feeding and day to day running of this small project Dom was assigned to help organise a team to put in a borehole...
The rain was pouring so hard that we couldn’t get the car out of the drive to pick David and Marjorie up from the airport. Luckily with their plane into Blantyre a bit delayed Andrew made it there in time to meet them, hurried them to the car and we all met for a rainy first lunch in town...
Chimwemwe has been working at RSC since November 2009 and over the last few months she has worked hard to learn as much as she possibly can about our ethos, travel and the region. Racing through London to catch the early morning Eurostar Dom and I huddled together on the rush hour tube very glad we no longer had to travel each morning like this. With minutes to spare we said farewell to London and sped off through the icy English countryside and into the tunnel. First timers on the Eurostar we pressed our faces against the windows as we sped into France and were met with snowy fields and blizzard conditions...
